ICT programme

The importance of Information and Communication Technologies in facilitating and accelerating the process of reducing poverty across the globe is continuously growing. It has became a fact that without the usage of the ICT, a society will fall behind in the path of development. Governments, donors, NGOs and other stakeholders alike, are realizing this, which further contributes to the impact.

ICT is being used for policy advocacy, local governance and educational development, and in Uganda several initiatives have already been established.
In relation to this, DENIVA's interest will remain to further strengthen the member organisations capacities within the utilisation of ICT. We have therefore introduced a new aspect to our programmes with direct focus on ICT for advocacy.

The activities will include capacity building in how to use ICT for advocacy, and direct assistance in the planning of strategies for ICT access and utilization.
Through this we believe our members will not only be able to face the general challenges of the information technology age, but also to utilise the full potential of ICT in advocacy.

DENIVA has partnered with I-Network Uganda (Information Network) to carry out ICT4D (Information and Communication Technologies for Development) knowledge sharing workshops in the rural regions or for the rural communities in different districts.

At DENIVA we are inviting our member organisations to join us in exploring the possibilities, and are encouraging interested members to contact the secretariat for more information.
